Clue 1: This Columbus Native Won a Tony Award

Wednesday, November 4 | 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Guests on this tour will begin with a visit to the Thurber House Museum and Thurber Center. James Thurber, one of the foremost humorists of the 20th Century published more than 30 books in his lifetime. His inimitable wit and pithy prose spanned a breadth of genres, including short stories, modern commentary, fiction, children's fantasy and letters. Then, the tour will move to German Village where attendees will set out on a scavenger hunt while exploring and learning about the wonderful history and architecture of Columbus' historic neighborhood. Lunch will be provided for this tour.

Whistle While You Read

Wednesday, November 4 | 12:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The American Whistle Corporation is the only manufacturer of metal whistles in the USA. Their whistles are used by the American Red Cross at disaster sites around the world. Each guest on the tour will get a whistle. Next, the group will head to Cover to Cover Books. This independent bookstore focuses on books for children and young adults. Here, attendees will be part of a book talk with a local author.

Buckeyes and Books

Thursday, November 5 | 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Experience candy-making from start to finish at the Anthony Thomas Chocolates Factory. Best known for its buckeyes, a staple in every Ohioans diet, the factory produces more than 30,000 pounds of chocolate per shift. After stopping by the gift shop, the group will head to the State Library of Ohio and the Ohioana Library to view the extensive library of historical non-fiction. A food truck will visit this location.

Shop 'Til You Drop

Sunday, November 8 | 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

The Easton Town Center is a unique shopping venue with more than 200 stores and restaurants. Finish your holiday shopping, eat at one of the many restaurants, or take in a movie. After a long week of learning, you deserve to treat yourself.
